Best of British celebrations

A British Pork ‘Tomahawk’ Chop, Pan-fried Scottish Scallops, and British Blackberry and Pear Crumble will be on the menu at Windsor Grill this week as part of celebrations to mark British Food Fortnight.

The dishes, all made using British produce, will be offered as specials at the restaurant as part of a campaign to raise awareness of British produce and suppliers.

Launched in 2002, British Food Fortnight (BFF) brings together restaurants, caterers, and individuals from across the country to highlight the quality of British food through a series of fun and unique events.

As well as the new trio of dishes, the team at the restaurant will also be offering British black pudding scotch eggs, a roast belly pork sandwich, and jumbo sausage rolls at the Farmers’ Market being held on St Leonards Road on Saturday 1 October.

David Wilby, chef patron, Windsor Grill, said: “British food can now comfortably compete with other cuisines from across the world. Our produce is excellent and our chefs are some of the best in the world.

“As a restaurant, we are always keen to support British produce whenever we can and the BFF gives us an opportunity to have a bit of fun too!”

Alexia Robinson, founder of British Food Fortnight said “British Food Fortnight has been flying the flag for British food fortnight for 15 years and we are delighted to see restaurants such as Windsor Grill getting involved in the celebrations. British food is produced to the highest standards; it really is some of the very best in the world so great to see restaurants in the UK showcasing local produce on their menus.”

New Year, New Dishes

We hope you had a wonderful festive break and thoroughly spoilt yourself and your loved ones.

It may be nearly the end of January, but the celebrations need not be over!

To mark the new year, we are launching a series of new fish dishes, which will sit alongside our old favourites.

We are fortunate to work with some of the UK’s best suppliers and can source some really interesting and fantastic fresh fish.

All of the fish is Marine Stewardship Council certified so we can basically tell you exactly where it came from and the name of the fisherman who caught it, probably.

The area is crying out for more fish options and we can’t wait to share some of our exciting new dishes with you.

Book a table now on +44 (0)1753 859 658 and be one of the first to enjoy the new dishes.

David hosts Countryfile Live restaurants

We’re delighted to announce that David Wilby, our chef patron, hosted the public and VIP restaurants at the BBC’s prestigious Countryfile Live event, held at Blenheim Palace on 4-7 August.

The main restaurant, called Rotisserie and Rose, served an a la carte menu using produce sourced from farms from across the UK.

This follows David’s recent appearance at the British Food Festival at Windsor Racecourse, where he held a food demo alongside Will Torrent and other high-profile chefs from the area.

The event was designed to enable people to enjoy the best of the British countryside within the spectacular grounds of Oxfordshire’s Blenheim Palace over the four days.
